BUENOS AIRES – An Argentine court has dropped charges against three of the five people accused in connection with Liam Payne’s death, according to local reports.
The cleared individuals include businessman Rogelio Nores—who was reportedly Payne’s friend and manager—as well as two hotel employees. However, two others are still in hot water: a hotel worker and a restaurant waiter remain in custody and could face up to 15 years behind bars if convicted.
Authorities believe the two may have supplied Payne with cocaine during his stay in Buenos Aires. The singer, known worldwide for his time in One Direction, tragically fell from a hotel balcony last October.
As of now, the court hasn’t responded to Reuters’ request for comment.
