A 23-year-old social media personality in Bangkok has been apprehended by law enforcement for allegedly enticing individuals to engage in online gambling, as per police reports on Thursday.
Metropolitan Police Bureau (MPB) officers arrested Lalada at a condominium in Lat Phrao district on Wednesday, stated Pol Maj Gen Theeradet Thumsuthee, MPB’s head of investigations, withholding her surname for privacy reasons.
Known by the moniker “Noon OnlyFans,” the woman faces charges of orchestrating illicit gambling pursuits and enticing individuals to partake in online gambling through promotional tactics and persuasion.
The arrest transpired following a police probe revealing that Lalada had shared photos of herself alongside links to gambling websites on her Facebook profile. She also employed messages on social media platforms to entice individuals to join the online gambling platform “omega9.”
Upon tracking her location, the law enforcement team secured authorization from the Criminal Court to execute a search warrant on Wednesday.
During the search operation, authorities seized and scrutinized her iPhone, uncovering multiple communications on her Facebook and Instagram profiles that encouraged people to gamble on the web.
During interrogation, Lalada admitted to managing the accounts and disclosed her initiation into enticing individuals to partake in online gambling since 2018.
She revealed that two gambling websites had engaged her for promotional purposes, remunerating her 20,000 baht for posting gambling-related content 30 times on each site.
The woman remains in police custody at Chokchai station pending further legal procedures.
