Atlas air takes delivery of the second of 4 777F’s.

A brand-new Boeing 777-200 freighter has been delivered to Atlas Air, who will use it to transport goods for its client, MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC).

The new Boeing 737 is the second of four planes to arrive, adding to Atlas Air’s current weekly operation for MSC, the biggest shipping firm in the world.

At the moment, MSC provides worldwide service to airports in places like Mexico City (NLU), Indianapolis (IND), Liege (LGG), Seoul (ICN), and Xiamen (XMN).

“We are delighted to welcome this second 777 delivery as part of our long-term strategic collaboration, building on the successful launch of MSC’s Air Cargo Solution.  According to a statement made on July 20, 2023 by Michael Steen, CEO of Atlas Air Worldwide, “We anticipate receiving our final two 777 aircraft in the fourth quarter.”

“We value the trust that MSC has in Atlas Air to support the expanding requirements of their global network,” continued Steen, “and we are excited to leverage our expertise and industry-leading solutions.”

Atlas Air, a division of Atlas Air Worldwide, and MSC declared they were beginning a new cooperation in September 2022.

The long-term ACMI (aircraft, crew, maintenance and insurance) contract stipulated that Atlas Air would fly MSC’s four new Boeing 777-200 freighters all over the world.

“The delivery of our second MSC-branded aircraft is another crucial part of our service that strengthens trade pathways for our clients. Jannie Davel, senior vice president of Air Cargo at MSC, remarked “In partnership with Atlas Air, we have built a solid foundation on which to expand our air cargo solution.”

Atlas Air now has 76 active aircraft in its fleet, all of which are Boeing airplanes, according to ch-aviation.com.
