Once inhabitants accepted the Crown Property Bureau’s offer of compensation and left the neighborhood, the majority of the homes there were demolished in January.
Only one home stood its ground and resisted moving.

As soon as the last family has left, Bangkok’s newest park will be ready for visitors.
Once, the park’s location was part of the 1,000-home Rong Poon neighborhood. A 40-rai (6.4 hectare) park has taken the place of the residences that were once there next to the CentralWorld shopping center along the Saen Saep canal.
In response to Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s desire to enhance public green spaces for Bangkok residents, building on the park started in 2017.
The Princess gave the park its name, and construction on it was finished in December 2018.
As soon as the last family has left, Bangkok’s newest park will be ready for visitors.
A modest amphitheater, an exhibition area, and a water treatment facility are all present in the park. A elevated walkway connects it to the Ratchaprasong crossroads as well.
