A Park in the Middle of Sukhumvit
Right next to the busy Emporium mall in Phrom Phong, Benchasiri Park offers a calm, shady break from Sukhumvit’s traffic and crowds. Built in 1992 to honor Queen Sirikit’s 60th birthday, the park remains one of Bangkok’s most accessible green spaces for both locals and visitors.

Unlike Bangkok’s larger parks, Benchasiri feels intimate. It’s a place where city life and nature overlap—you can sip coffee from a nearby café, then be sitting under a tree in minutes.

Sculpture, Shade, and a Lake
The park’s centerpiece is a large pond, surrounded by shaded benches and a wide walking path. Public art is scattered throughout, including sculptures by Thai artists installed during the park’s inauguration. Each piece represents a theme of peace, unity, or national pride.

In the mornings, the paths are lined with joggers and tai chi groups. By late afternoon, families gather, kids play on the playground, and the air cools enough for a leisurely stroll. The open lawns also host occasional events, from small craft markets to cultural performances.
Easy to Visit, Easy to Enjoy
Benchasiri Park is free to enter and open from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. The most atmospheric time to visit is at sunset, when the lake reflects the skyline and the city’s glow softens behind the trees. For those coming by public transport, Phrom Phong BTS is right across the street—making it one of the easiest parks to reach in Bangkok.
Pack light: the park is compact, so you won’t need more than an hour unless you plan to linger. Afterward, you can step straight into Emporium or explore the many small restaurants and coffee shops nearby.
Why It’s Worth a Stop
Benchasiri isn’t about escaping the city entirely—it’s about pausing within it. Whether you’re walking off lunch, enjoying some fresh air, or simply curious about the sculptures, it’s an easy, rewarding stop in central Bangkok.
