According to a preliminary investigation, the building complied entirely with the permitted layout, according to Thirayut Phumsak, director of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration’s Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation.

According to him, the accident occurred as a result of the cement being applied to the roof in one location rather than evenly distributed.
