COVID-19 cases are likely to increase after songkran

COVID-According to Associate Professor Dr. Nitipat Jiarakul, director of the Thoracic Society of Thailand, 19 infections are predicted to rise two weeks after the Songkran festival, but the situation will remain under control because hospitals have the space to accept the additional patients.

The number of COVID-19 patients in for treatment at major hospitals had grown since March, he observed, but the majority of the patients only had mild symptoms.

In a recent Instagram post, actor Nattawut Skidjai identified himself as one of the sufferers and advised Songkran revelers to use caution and wear face masks.

The leader of the Thai Civilized Party, Mongkolkit Suksintharanon, revealed in a Facebook post that he had contracted COVID-19 for the first time as well. His blood pressure and blood oxygen levels are both within normal range, but he has a slight hoarseness. He continued by saying that because to his illness, he was unable to socialize with anyone during the Songkran holiday.

Songkran revelers do not need to continue working from home after the holiday, but Dr. Nitipat did encourage those who live with old people and those who are at high risk to keep an eye on their health for signs of COVID-19.
