Pheu Thai pledges to create the People’s Constitution

In order to maintain fairness in society, Pheu Thai will change the Constitution and overhaul the government and judicial system, according to the party’s political strategy chairman Chaikasem Nitisiri on Wednesday.

Chaikasem was announced as one of three Pheu Thai prime ministerial candidates at the election campaign event “One team for all Thais” at Thunderdome Stadium in Nonthaburi.

Paetongtarn Shinawatra, the patriarch of the Pheu Thai Family, and real estate magnate Srettha Thavisin were named as the party’s other contenders for prime minister.

Former attorney general Chaikasem emphasized the importance of the rule of law in governing society, assisting citizens, and advancing the nation. For the previous eight years, the administration had abused it, which had distorted the judicial system.

A few select tiny groups were also taking advantage of the bureaucracy, he continued.

Government representatives only view the populace as taxpayers, he claimed.

The 2017 Constitution, he continued, has been utilized to prolong the authority of coup leaders while prohibiting regular citizens from voting on constitutional amendments.

He pleaded with the populace to have faith in the party, saying, “Pheu Thai would not permit this to happen.”

In order to ensure that everyone is treated fairly, Pheu Thai promised that if given the opportunity to govern, he will update or suspend out-of-date legislation and streamline the legal system.

In order to increase the openness and accessibility of government services, the party would also employ blockchain technology and digital payments.

The Constitution, which was the root of Thailand’s political issues, would also be altered by Pheu Thai.

“There must be a legislation to prevent coups, and the Constitution Drafting Assembly must be chosen by the people,” he stated. He stated that those who carry out coups should be charged with subverting the government.

In order to ensure that justice could be restored in Thai society, he urged the populace to support Pheu Thai Party.
