The Bhumjaithai Party and its patriarch, Newin Chidchob, a former ally of Thaksin Shinawatra who was later accused of betraying him, are well-represented in the province.
The youngest daughter of Thaksin revealed during the Muang district rally that she had been informed to expect a cool reception at the Chidchob family stronghold. In fact, the opposite was true. 10,000 people, according to Phue Thai members, attended the event.
Paetongtarn began her speech by saying, “I was warned not to expect to see a large audience, yet I’m seeing a lot of people here.
“Pheu Thai has policies to fight poverty, and these measures have worked in the past. Only if the residents of Buri Ram support Pheu Thai will we be able to do it again, according to Paetongtarn.
Thaksin’s daughter promises to eradicate poverty and drug use in Buri Ram.
If Pheu Thai wins the next election, she said at a gathering at the party’s provincial coordination office in the Prakhon Chai district, it will also step up efforts to eradicate drugs in order to protect the children of Buri Ram.
Party head Cholnan Srikaew, the party’s potential candidates for the province, and Nattawut Saikua, the project’s director (which Paetongtarn oversees), were in attendance with Paetongtarn.
Nattawut informed the crowd that Pheu Thai had not come to Buri Ram to start a conflict. By Newin and his Bhumjaithai Party, he meant.

The northeastern province’s power brokers include Newin, a former Buri Ram MP. Despite having backed Thaksin, Newing led a group of 23 MPs who were his allies in 2008 to back Democrat leader Abhisit Vejjajiva’s campaign for prime minister. In a coup, Thaksin was overthrown in 2006.
After leading the MPs to endorse Abhisit, Newin told Thaksin, “Boss, it’s over. After Abhisit dissolved the House less than three years later, Newing left politics and concentrated on leading the Buri Ram United Football Association.
He is still referred to by the Bhumjaithai Party as “the school principal,” nonetheless.
Paetongtarn asked Buri Ram voters on Saturday to support only Pheu Thai candidates so that the party could establish the following administration and carry out its anti-poverty and anti-drug initiatives.

Pheu Thai did not come to Buri Ram to declare war, Nattawut said at the rally.
He said that certain Buri Ram MPs had formerly belonged to Pheu Thai and reassured supporters that Paetongtarn would take over as “school director” if they were concerned about “the school principal”.
He instructed Buri Ram voters to support only Pheu Thai candidates in order for the party to achieve the victory margin necessary to ensure that it can form the next government, echoing the words of Echong Thaksin’s daughter.
Also, he urged Newin to concentrate just on Buri Ram United and allow “Pheu Thai United” to win the electoral league.
There are no permanent allies or enemies in Thai politics, Newin declared last year, leaving the door open for Bhumjaithai to form a coalition with Pheu Thai. Trust me.”
