Pita aims to bring wealth to rural comunities

Pita Limjaroenrat, the leader of the Move Forward party, has reassured local administrative organization leaders that his prospective administration’s decentralization policy will not be severe and that, with public engagement.

The main goal will be to promote prosperity in rural areas.

Today (Thursday), Pita met with representatives from the National Municipal Association of Thailand, the Provincial Administrative Organizations.  The Tambon Administrative Organizations to inform them of the coalition’s decentralization objectives and solicit their feedback.

The base of a pyramid, which is in direct contact with the people and need to be aware of the issues, is how he compared local administrative organizations to.

In the first year of the new administration, he told the local leaders, his government would put an emphasis on distributing prosperity to rural areas and facilitating access to state services before moving on to decentralizing administration so local administrative bodies would be more free of state control and have their own budgets and revenue sources.

Pita suggested that, in circumstances when the administrators are elected, the local populace should decide on their tenure of office.

Pita commended the Move Forward party for its role in revising the Constitution to release local administration organizations from state supervision while the president of the National Municipal Association of Thailand complimented the party on gaining the most House seats.
