The EC will announce the results of the 475 Constituencies within 60 days

According to EC Chairman Itthiporn Boonpracong on Saturday, the Election Commission (EC) is anticipated to publicly disclose the election results for 475 of the 500 electoral constituencies—or 95% of the votes cast. Earlier than the required 60 days. This will allow coalition parties to establish a government.

According to him, election officials have been reviewing the results from more than 95,000 voting places nationwide and are looking into more than 280 claims of election fraud that have more than 20 candidates who won the May 14 election at its center.

He acknowledged that the coalition parties wanted the EC to accept the election results as soon as possible so they could complete the formation of a new government.  But he said that the EC must scrupulously abide by the law when it comes to certifying and publicly publishing the final results.

In comparison to the general election four years ago, he promised that the process is being completed as swiftly as possible and that the results will be made public within 60 days of the election.

Itthiporn said the EC can organize a new election, order a recount of votes in particular polling places, or schedule a new election in particular districts or constituencies if irregularities are discovered or vote tallies are incorrect.

The EC chairman stated that election officials are gathering evidence to be submitted to the EC for consideration in relation to the complaint involving Move Forward party leader Pita Limjaroenrat’s alleged ownership in iTV media company.

He claimed he had no way of knowing whether or when the case will be submitted to the Constitutional Court for review.
