56 people were detained by Bangkok police when they raided a private party at the Diamond KTV Club, including 23 Chinese visitors. Charges against the suspects include possession of prohibited drugs, unlawful abode, and firearms.

Chinese visitors were offered unlawful after-hours karaoke services at the location, which is housed inside the Meria massage parlor on New Petchaburi Road, starting at 10 p.m. and lasting till the next morning. They are accused of drug-related offenses, unauthorized stay in Thailand, and possession of a handgun.

As a result, officials from Makkasan police station detained and arrested all of the Chinese tourists. Three different police cars, each holding eight inmates, were used to take the suspects from the Makkasan, Phaya Thai, and Nang Loeng police stations.

Except for one person who had to be taken to the Phranakhon Nuea Municipal Court due to exceeding their residence permit, the rest were to be delivered to the Ratchada Criminal Court.

According to Police Major General Adthaphon Wangsiripiriya, Commander of Division 1, they were taking the 56 people arrested seriously and will be turning them over to the Ratchada Criminal Court. 52 counts of drug possession, three cases of illegally remaining longer than allowed, and one case of gun possession made up the charges. The court will give additional directives about the detainees’ travel documents.
