Putin travels to Ukraine’s Kherson region.

According to a statement released by the Kremlin on Tuesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin visited military headquarters in the partially Russian-held districts of Kherson and Luhansk in Ukraine.

Putin was present at a military command meeting in the Kherson region to hear briefings from the leaders of the airborne forces, the “Dnieper” army group, and other senior officers on the conditions in the territories of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia, both of which Moscow has annexed as part of Russia.

Last November, Russian forces withdrew from Kherson, the regional capital, and have since bolstered their positions on the opposing bank of the Dnipro river in preparation for an offensive by Ukraine.

In the eastern Ukrainian territory of Luhansk, which Moscow occupied last year, Putin has also been to the national guard headquarters.

When did Putin attend the meetings? The Kremlin has not said.
