Economic Crime Suppression Division (ECSD) officers seized 30,000 pairs of “elephant pants” today, worth about six million baht, from a warehouse in Bangkok’s Bang Khun Thian district.

Acting on a tipoff, police raided the warehouse, located on Liab Duan Kanchanapisek Road, where they found the garments, which are believed to have been made abroad.

A police officer said that the owner of the warehouse will be invited for questioning, to ascertain whether he paid import duty on the shipment. If not, he would face smuggling charges.
