Start of coalition negotiations by Move Forward

After winning the general election, the current opposition parties have begun coalition talks. Move Forward, the party with the most seats in the lower house, is now in charge of creating a coalition.

The Move Forward Party (MFP) has started the process of putting up a coalition government with other opposition parties, with the Pheu Thai Party serving as the primary partner.Party head Pita Limjaroenrat reportedly chose MFP Secretary General Chaithawat Tulathon to coordinate with opposing parties, particularly Pheu Thai Party. Pita will personally phone the Pheu Thai, Prachachart, Thai Sang Thai, Thai Liberal, and Fair party leaders.

This week, the party plans to host an official gathering and give the media additional information, according to Mr. Chaithawat.Even though the MFP-led coalition won the majority of seats in the lower house, the 250 senators who will participate in the voting to select a new prime minister would make it difficult for the coalition to name Pita Limjaroenrat as prime minister.

According to Mr. Chaithawat, the MFP is still debating whether to ask the Bhumjaithai Party to raise their hands in support of Mr. Pita. He added that if the Bhumjaithai and Democrat parties do what the voters have asked, it would be a positive change.According to the secretary general of the MFP, the party hasn’t yet gotten in touch with the Chart Thai Pattana party because it wants to concentrate on the opposition for the time being. The party is still sure that its current plan for establishing a coalition would get enough support, and it is certain that it will obtain 376 votes for the appointment of the PM.

According to Mr. Chaithawat, the MFP is prepared to speak with the Senate because he believes the senators care about the nation and do not want it to descend into a gridlock.
