Thai Airways recieves its 3rd 787-9

Thai Airways yesterday has just delievred its 3rd 787-9 Dreamliner. The aircraft is registered HS-TWC with the name Si Sakhon. Equiped with the GE engines. The aircaft had flown in from Haikou in Hainan.

This aircraft was previously served with Bamboo Airways of Vietnam. Bamboo Airways was looking to expand its long haul but didnt go to plan. The plane it self is 5 years old and its owner is Aercap.

Originally the aircraft was served with Hainan Airlines B-1140 then went to Bamboo Airlines after. Thai Airways has another 45 plus Boeing 787-9 on order with 35 options. With the 35 options Thai Airways is looking to add the Boeing 777-9 into its fleet but not before the early 2030’s.

Previously Thai Airways had many types of aircrat like the Boeing 747-400, Boeing 777-200/300, Airbus A380-800 and the A340-600. Currently has the Boeing 777-200ER which is being planned for retirement in 2025. The final flight hasnt been announced yet but the AX Media Thailand team will go onboard.
