Thai Airways to lease 2 A330-300 planes

Thai Airways International Public Company Limited and CDB Aviation, an Irish subsidiary of China Development Bank Financial Leasing Co., Ltd, have recently signed a lease agreement. This partnership aims to enhance Thai Airways’ fleet capabilities and address the growing demands of the aviation market in the Asia Pacific region.

As part of the deal, Thai Airways will acquire two used widebody Airbus A330-300 aircraft, which are scheduled for delivery in the second half of the year. This move will enable the airline to efficiently cater to high seasons and accommodate the increasing passenger volumes in key intra-Asian markets.

Jie Chen, the CEO of CDB Aviation, expressed excitement about welcoming Thai Airways to their expanding customer base in the Asia Pacific region. This strategic partnership is expected to strengthen Thai Airways’ position in crucial markets and ensure they remain competitive and responsive to the evolving needs of travelers.

The delivery of the two Airbus A330-300s is scheduled for September and October 2024. This timely acquisition aligns with Thai Airways’ proactive approach to meeting market demands, especially during peak seasons. The introduction of these widebody aircraft will support enhanced capacity and provide a seamless travel experience for passengers.
