Today, the price of chicken eggs has increased by an additional 6 baht per tray, as reported by the president of the Chicken Egg Farmers Association. He indicated that prices could potentially reach 5-6 baht per egg.
This morning saw a further rise in the price of chicken eggs by 20 satang per egg or 6 baht per tray. This marks the second price adjustment this month, resulting in a total increase of 12 baht per tray. Consequently, the price of chicken eggs at the farm gate has gone up from 3 baht 60 satang per egg to 3 baht 80 satang.
The Channel 7HD news team contacted Mr. Manoch Chuathapthim, the president of the Chicken Egg Farmers Association, to inquire about the future price trends. In response, he questioned, “Why can’t egg prices increase?” citing a decrease in egg production from the usual 40 million eggs per day to approximately 35 million eggs presently, leading to a 5-10% loss due to extreme hot weather. Prices are expected to be adjusted accordingly, with a possibility of further increases to 5-6 baht per egg.
Simultaneously, the Department of Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce, is urging the public to purchase essential products for their livelihood through local Blue Flag stores or distribution points. An event held today in Maha Sarakham province featured products from local producers and entrepreneurs being offered at prices 60% lower than market rates, including Grade 2 chicken eggs at 95 baht per tray or 3 baht 20 satang per egg, canned fish, pork, jasmine rice in 5-kilogram bags at 150 baht each.
