To honor Coronation Day on Thursday the Expressway Authority of Thailand (EXAT) has announced that it will waive tolls on three expressways.

After midnight, no toll will be collected at any of the three expressways for 24 hours. This is consistent with the government’s directive to promote the use of expressways for upcountry travel on public holidays.

The following three expressways won’t have tolls:

  • 19 gates on the Chalerm Maha Nakhon Expressway

(31 gates) Si Rat Expressway

  • Ten gates on the Udon Ratthaya Expressway

In addition to Coronation Day, the following dates will be free of highway tolls:

  • June 3: Visaka Bucha Day and HM the Queen’s birthday
  • Birthday of HM the King is on July 28.
  • Asalha Bucha Day is on August 1.
  • August 2: Lent Day for Buddhists
  • Sunday, August 12: Mother’s Day
  • King Rama IX Memorial Day is on October 13.
  • Chulalongkorn Memorial Day is on October 23.
  • Sunday, June 18: Father’s Day

Dec. 10 is Constitution Day.

Eve of the New Year, December 31.
