Turkish Airlines has received its 400th aircraft, a One Love Airbus A350-900.
Bilal Ekşi, the CEO of the airline, acknowledged the significance of the day by posting a picture of the new aircraft and its crew.
According to Airways, the plane was delivered on February 24, 2023, and it started flying from Istanbul to Vancouver on March 4, 2023.
The CEO of Turkish Airlines extended an invitation to the 7.8-magnitude earthquake victims and their families to board the new aircraft on February 6, 2023.
“We unified as #OneHeart. As we welcomed earthquake victims and their families, we chose to capture this special moment with the flight crew of our 400th aircraft in our fleet, said Bilal Ekşi in a statement. I want to express my gratitude to each and every one of our #THY family members for their tireless efforts since the earthquake’s beginning.
Turkish Airlines reportedly made over 4,000 flights in reaction to the earthquake and evacuated 400,000 people, according to Umut Acar, Turkey’s ambassador to Tajikistan.
The earthquake that struck Syria and Turkey is thought to have killed over 45,000 people and left millions homeless.
