On Saturday night at 11.45 p.m. in Bangkok’s Thawi Wattana district, an oil truck caught fire on Borommaratchachonnani Road (inbound).

By the time firefighters, rescuers, and police arrived, around half of the truck had already caught fire.

For 30 minutes, 10 fire vehicles battled the flames while the road was closed to traffic. There were no injuries.Thanapol Ratchaneesiriphap, the 55-year-old driver, claimed he was transporting 40,000 liters of diesel from a storage facility in Samut Sakhon to a filling station in Saraburi.He claimed he made the decision to pull over and exit the truck as soon as he noticed the brakes and wheel were acting up.He continued, “Shortly after, there was an explosion, and the vehicle was enveloped in flames. I phoned the police right away.
