A Chinese company has recently signed a contract to purchase 100,000 tons of Thai Jasmine rice, with a total value exceeding two billion baht. This significant pre-sale contract was facilitated by the trade representative and involved San Chong Food Import and Export from China, Tanasan Rice, and the Marketing Organization for Farmers from Thailand.
The agreement comprises 90,000 tons of rice through Tanasan Rice and an additional 10,000 tons through the Marketing Organization for Farmers. To support the transportation of the rice, the company GML, affiliated with PTT, will utilize the rail system to transport the rice from Thailand to China. The primary Chinese consumers for this rice are situated in Sichuan Province.
The spokesperson, Miss Narumon, expressed optimism for the expansion of agricultural product exports, particularly rice, to China. This contract represents a positive step towards increased rice exports to China and further opportunities for the agricultural sector in Thailand.
