Thailand’s health tourism sector, valued at THB 670 billion in 2025, is a key focus for global wellness recognition. The industry includes over 92,813 operators, with THB 220 billion from direct health services and THB 450 billion from related businesses like retail and transport. Spa services, such as massages, detox, yoga, and wellness treatments, are increasingly popular.
Despite a slight slowdown due to negative press affecting tourist numbers, the sector is expected to recover strongly in upcoming high seasons. Major players like BDMS are collaborating on initiatives to elevate Thailand’s global wellness profile. Post-COVID, tourism growth has surged over 120%, mainly driven by international travelers, with secondary wellness travelers—leisure tourists spending around US$1,000—showing significant growth. To boost revenue, operators are encouraged to offer more long-term packages and retreat programs.
