Thailand Warns of Cold Weather and Heavy Floods in South

Thailand’s Meteorological Department has issued a weather warning through Nov. 23, highlighting colder temperatures in the north and severe monsoon rains in the south.

A cold front from China has brought cold and windy conditions to upper Thailand, with temperatures dropping by 1–2°C in the North and Northeast. Mornings will be cool to cold across central regions, Bangkok, and the East, with mountain areas experiencing very cold weather. Authorities advise health precautions, fire safety, and crop protection.

From Nov. 22–23, temperatures will ease slightly but remain cool to cold in the North and Northeast, with fog affecting visibility.

Heavy rains and high waves are expected in southern Thailand due to the monsoon, with waves reaching over 3 meters in some areas. Flash floods, run-off, and coastal hazards are risks, especially in lowlands and rivers. Mariners are advised to avoid sailing in the Gulf of Thailand and Andaman Sea.

The public should stay updated via the Thai Meteorological Department’s channels.
