A jet carrying 78 Thai evacuees from Sudan landed at an air force facility at Bangkok’s Don Muang airport.

The first batch of evacuees at the airport received a visit from Thai Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-Ocha.

The Prime Minister told reporters, “This operation serves as a critical test of the effectiveness of Thai agencies and government in ensuring the welfare of our citizens.”

He predicted that by Saturday, April 29, all Thai citizens will have been evacuated.

Sobariyah Saleah, 22, one of the evacuees, characterized the trek as tough and emotional.

Saleah declared, “The noises of firearms and explosives still haunt me and make me terrified.However, she continued, “I’m thrilled and I want to thank everyone who worked so hard to support us.

132 Thai nationals are currently waiting to be evacuated, according to officials.Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and the Sudanese army are at odds, and this has led to a rush to evacuate foreign embassies and citizens.

Several nations have flown out their citizens, and others have traveled via Port Sudan on the Red Sea, which is around 800 kilometers (500 miles) away from Khartoum.
