for some qualified workers, new minimum wages
The Cabinet authorized increases in the minimum wage for qualified workers in 17 professions last week. To be eligible for the pay increases, employees must pass a skills test.
Workers with skills in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, and services will be paid between 465 and 715 baht per day.
Employees in the service sector who work in hydrotherapy, aromatherapy, bartending, childcare, and assistance for people with disabilities
will also be eligible, as will those who work in industrial robots, agricultural tractor repair, excavator and trailer control, powertrain, pumps and valve systems, steel structure assembly, welding system control, and powertrain.
In the 90 days following its publication in the Royal Gazette, this new law will become operative.
