Foreign tourist drowned in Saen Saeb Canal

Authorities were alerted to an incident involving a foreign tourist drowning in the Saen Saeb Canal near the Pratunam Pier. The incident occurred under the Chaloem Phra Kiat Bridge, where a large number of people were gathered to celebrate Songkran, the Thai New Year. Rescue teams, including police and volunteers from the Ruen Kaew Foundation, promptly responded to the scene.

Preliminary inquiries revealed that the deceased had been playing with water guns in front of a nearby shopping mall before attempting to retrieve a water gun that had fallen into the canal. Despite efforts from bystanders, including fellow tourists, to rescue him, they were unable to reach him in time. Eventually, his body was discovered in the water.

The authorities are continuing their investigation.
