A Hong Kong man, Wong Tsz Kin, aged 31, was recently apprehended and accused of operating a tour company and serving as a tour guide in a popular island province.
Wong Tsz Kin was caught at a parking lot close to the Phuket Big Buddha, also named Phra Phutta Ming Mongkol Eknakakiri, located on Nakkerd Hill in tambon Karon of Muang district at approximately 5 pm last Tuesday, as reported by the tourist police.
The charges against Mr. Wong include guiding tours without the necessary license, operating a tour company illegally, and engaging in work without a valid permit as a foreign national.
Law enforcement officials revealed that the suspect had been advertising tour packages targeted at Chinese travelers through online platforms. Upon their arrival, he would use a car to transport them and act as their guide, showing them around various tourist spots on the island.
After his apprehension, Wong Tsz Kin was handed over to the police investigators stationed at Karon for further legal proceedings.
