KLM Expands Across Asia With Busy Summer Program

As the airline doubles destinations compared to previous year, the recovery trend is evident.

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines announced on Wednesday, March 22, that its route network would consist of 165 destinations starting from the commencement of the summer schedule, which is just four days away. 96 of those destinations will be in Europe, and 69 will be intercontinental. And there has never been a clearer indication that international aviation travel is on the mend.

Recovery tendency is seen as the Asia network grows

Starting in 2022, KLM will double the number of departures while expanding its network to Asia. Also, the airline’s new premium economy service will be extended to more of its long-distance destinations. The COVID-19 epidemic and related travel restrictions have resulted in the last several years’ skeleton network, but according to KLM, it will resume operations to 16 destinations in Asia this summer. Daily services to Beijing and Shanghai, three weekly trips to Hong Kong, and twice weekly trips to Taipei through Seoul Incheon will all be available.

The national airline of the Netherlands will provide flights twice per week to Osaka and three times per week to Tokyo’s Narita airport. These two also use the Seoul Incheon airport. In September, the frequency for the Tokyo route will increase to five times weekly.

KLM also offers flights, this time via Singapore, to Denpasar and Jakarta in Indonesia. It travels from Kuala Lumpur to Manila in the Phillipines. Moreover, the airline offers five weekly flights to Bangalore in addition to daily flights to Mumbai and Delhi.

more high-end airlines to North America

KLM offers service to 18 locations across North America in the opposite direction. In the summer of 2022, there will be 13 services to Toronto in Canada, up from 10. There will be flights from New York, Los Angeles, Austin, Toronto, and Calgary that offer the new premium economy comfort class. South America, Africa, the Caribbean, and Europe

The airline will continue to offer a wide variety of services to the Dutch Caribbean, including up to ten weekly flights to the island of Curaçao during the peak months of July and August.

There will be ten destinations in each of South America and Africa, including daily flights to So Paulo, Buenos Aires, Panama City, Nairobi, Cape Town, and Johannesburg. There will be three flights per week between San Jose and Liberia in Costa Rica and two flights per week between Zanzibar and Dar-es-Salaam for travelers looking for leisure locations.

Back in Europe, KLM will maintain Nantes’ summer schedule of three times daily service after a successful winter season. Starting on March 26 with the commencement of the summer schedule, it will also start providing daily service to Rennes.
