Move Forward currently hopes to win at least 100 seats in the House

A top member of the opposition party voiced confidence on Sunday that Move Forward will win at least 100 House seats in the May 14 election, citing a recent poll showing growth in support for the party.

According to the secretary general of the Move Forward Party, Chaithawat Tulathon, the party’s popularity has increased over the previous two weeks and will continue to grow as Election Day draws near.

In comparison to its predecessor, the Future Forward Party, which garnered 81 House seats in the 2018 election, Chaithawat expressed confidence that Move Forward will perform better. In February 2020, the party was disbanded, and its lawmakers subsequently joined the Move Forward Party.

According to Chaithawat, “Our popularity is growing quickly, especially over the last two weeks, and I think it will continue to grow until Election Day.”

Move Forward has made progress according to the most recent National Institute of Development Administration poll. According to the survey’s findings, which were made public on Sunday, support for the party and its leader, Pita Limjaroenrat, has increased by around four percentage points since the previous comparable poll on March 19.

While Future Forward got more party-list MPs than constituency MPs, Chaithawat predicted that Move Forward would achieve the opposite:

“We’ll gain more House seats from party lists than from constituency MPs. I have faith that we will win House seats across the board.

“I think there’s a chance we may take home up to 100 seats. Currently, we believe we have a possibility of winning in roughly 150 constituencies, but it will depend on how well we do during the final week of the campaign,” he said.

According to Chaithawat, the party is sure that it will gain one House member in each southern province.

According to him, it will need at least 25 seats in Bangkok and the nearby provinces as well as more seats in the North and Northeast.
