The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) welcomed more than 2,000 travel professionals to Bangkok from July 10 to 12 for Flight Centre Global Gathering: Bangkok 2026, one of the largest international travel industry events hosted in Thailand this year. The gathering brought together senior executives, frontline consultants and business leaders from across Flight Centre Travel Group's worldwide network.
According to TAT Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool, the event aligned with the agency's Value over Volume strategy, which prioritizes meaningful travel experiences and long-term economic value over raw visitor numbers. The conference also promoted Thailand's Health and Wellness Tourism push, including Nuat Thai, or traditional Thai massage, which UNESCO recognized as intangible cultural heritage in 2019.
A Packed Programme Across the City
Delegates gathered for welcome events at the Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen's Park and Hyatt Regency Bangkok Sukhumvit, followed by a networking lunch for more than 500 attendees at Baan Dusit Thani. The main conference opened on July 11 at UOB Live, followed by an awards dinner at Impact Arena and a closing celebration, Flight Fest, at Asiatique The Riverfront. Guided tours also took delegates through Bang Rak, Yaowarat and Talat Noi, along with a visit to Rajadamnern Stadium for a Muay Thai demonstration.
Economic and Conservation Impact
The gathering is projected to generate roughly 262 million baht in tourism revenue across hotels, restaurants, transport and local attractions. Organizers also directed a portion of registration proceeds to the National Elephant Institute and the Thai Elephant Conservation Center in Lampang, tying the event to Thailand's broader push for responsible tourism.
