Chadchart Sittipunt tested a BMA feeder bus on the Samsen-Thonburi route on Thursday in an effort to ease traffic when the new school year begins on Tuesday.

Due to the abundance of educational facilities located there, Samsen Road is one of Bangkok’s busiest streets.

Due to the Tao Poon – Rat Burana segment of the MRT Purple Line’s development, traffic conditions for drivers crossing the Krung Thon Bridge, which connects Phra Nakhon and Thonburi districts, have gotten worse.

More traffic has been directed to the bridge as a result, congesting Samsen Road, which is connected to it.

To lessen the amount of traffic crossing the bridge, the Traffic and Transport Department of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration has been testing a feeder bus that connects Samsen Road with the Thonburi neighborhood. The bus also offers an alternative mode of transportation for pupils whose parents usually drive them to and from their schools on Samsen Road.

The BMA feeder bus has 20 seats, is electrically powered, and is fully air conditioned. It can accommodate up to 35 passengers. To ensure student safety, the city will also send one security officer every bus.

Beginning on Monday, May 15, the feeder bus will operate during peak hours, from 6am to 9am and 3.20pm to 8pm, Monday through Friday. It costs nothing to ride the feeder bus.

Bangkok residents have six bus stop options:

Kuakarun Faculty of Nursing, Sirithorn branch, Navamindradhiraj University office assistant

Saint Gabriel’s Alumni Association Soi Samsen 13 Tang Hua Seng Shopping Center Soi Ratchawithi 19
