Chinese woman murders husband with knife as self defense

On April 16, 67, at 10:00 AM, Pol. Lt. Col. Pitsanu Intharachai, an investigator from the Khlong Tan Police Station, Bangkok, received a report of a bodily harm incident involving a knife inside a residence on Phatthanakan Soi 38, Suan Luang District, Bangkok. Upon arrival at the scene, it was discovered that the injured party had already been transported to the hospital earlier. The victim was identified as Mr. Wong Kui Heng, aged 42, a Chinese national, who had suffered a stab wound to the chest and succumbed to the injuries later. The perpetrator was identified as Mrs. Tong Jia Lin, aged 39, also a Chinese national and the wife of the deceased.

According to the preliminary investigation and information obtained through an interpreter from the perpetrator, prior to the incident, the husband had been drinking alcohol and attempting to provoke his wife over domestic issues. Feeling threatened, the wife grabbed a knife from the kitchen to defend herself. In the midst of the altercation, the wife stabbed the deceased once in the chest. She then sought help from the police, who subsequently took her husband to the hospital, where he later passed away.

Based on the initial investigation by the Khlong Tan Police, Mrs. Tong Jia Lin was charged with manslaughter pending further legal proceedings.
