Visa and TAT to sign an MOU to boost tourism in Thailand

TAT and Visa reach agreement to increase tourism spending

In order to encourage Visa cardholders from abroad to spend more money when traveling in Thailand, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and Visa have inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for their most recent collaboration on cutting-edge data-driven marketing initiatives.

In order to encourage Visa cardholders from other countries to spend more money when traveling in Thailand, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and Visa have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to work together on creative data-driven marketing tactics.

The Amazing Thailand Grand Sale and Thailand’s health and wellness tourist experiences are highlighted in the MoU. In accordance with the MoU, Visa will share information on cardholders’ travel preferences and spending patterns while in Thailand, enabling efficient data-driven marketing campaigns.

In order to encourage Visa cardholders from abroad to spend more money while traveling in Thailand, the Tourism Authority of Thailand and Visa have signed an MoU to work together on data-driven marketing strategies with a focus on health and wellness tourism experiences and the Amazing Thailand Grand Sale.

In order to support effective data-driven marketing initiatives that are in line with Thailand’s profile as a top shopping destination and a preferred location for health and wellness tourism, Visa will give data intelligence on cardholders’ travel preferences and spending in Thailand.

The partnership is a part of the campaign Visit Thailand Year 2023, which aims to welcome 30 million foreign visitors and generate 1.44 trillion Baht in tourism revenue.

Over the years, TAT and Visa have collaborated on a number of marketing initiatives. This most recent Memorandum of Understanding highlights our long-standing connection and broadens our cooperation to use a smart data system for tourism to help the development of our marketing strategy and advance Thailand’s tourism responsibly.

The partnership aims to strengthen Thailand’s standing as one of the top six touristic shopping destinations worldwide and as the top choice for wellness and health tourism.

China, Malaysia, India, South Korea, Singapore, and the CLMV nations will be the target markets. In 2023, TAT projects that Thailand would receive 30 million foreign visitors, bringing in 1.44 trillion Baht in income.
